2 March 2001 Norman, Although we don't know Nancy, V. & I were saddened after reading of your wife's cancer. And yet we understand that God our Healer is still on His throne, and He can see us through all our trials. Neither of us have medical expertise. But there are a few items in the realm of natural healing (without drugs) and faith, which I can share with you. Some people became cancer-free after having followed the Hallelujah Diet of Dr. George Malkmus (see Hallelujah Acres website): http://www.hacres.com Somewhat along the same line, Dr. Francisco Contreras has written a book entitled, _Health In the 21st Century_. He directs the Oasis of Hope hospital in Baja California, at which many people are said to have become cancer-free through the diet regimen there. Also, there are individuals who seem to especially exercise God's gift of healing through the Holy Spirit. One such is David Hogan, an American who has ministered primarily to descendants of ancient Aztecs in Mexico. I have heard isolated accounts of the Lord having miraculously caused new bodyparts & appendages to grow on the diseased, after David Hogan prayed & laid hands on them. Supposedly, he has raised from the dead in the name of Jesus *dozens* of people (including many non-Christians)! The accounts of healing miracles in Benny Hinn crusades are too numerous to view them all as false, in my opinion. One of my co-workers attended the Benny Hinn crusade in Nashville last April, and was herself healed of a minor ailment. Prior to that, a COG sabbatarian I know from west Tennessee went to a Hinn crusade in Memphis (partly out of curiosity) -- and he told me that he was healed of a neck problem. The TBN telecast presently indicates Hinn's next crusade is scheduled for Little Rock in mid-March. I have seen a few in wheelchairs at his crusade get up and walk. And some of those sick previously were not believers in Yeshua or Jesus. It is understood that so-called "faith healers" attest to some doctrines different from those of COG people of the HWA tradition. Nevertheless, it seems that our loving Father uses imperfect individuals as His instruments and heals humans who have a wide variety of doctrinal or dogmatic beliefs. The mighty deliverance & healing works done in Argentina in the 1990s through men such as Carlos Annacondia is astounding! (His book, Listen To Me, Satan!, is a very interesting read.) You may or may not consider any of the above to be a viable option. One way or the other, our prayers are with Nancy & you. May our good God comfort you during this difficult trial. D.
