Hi Y'all, Another week of hot/cold showers, tinctures, enemas and Scrabble has gone by and we still have good news to report. She is continuing to improve although by the sounds of how well she is doing how can there be any more improvement? She mentioned a couple days ago something about her shoulder. You know how you can move or flex certain joints like your shoulder, knuckles, neck, etc. and have them "crack"? Well, I just found out that she had not been able to do that to her shoulder since all this stuff began way back in November. I guess the tumor took up room above her right lung and tightened up all the space in her shoulder area preventing loose movement of her collarbones. Anyway, she was laying in bed a couple of days ago and she moved her shoulder around and was able to "crack" it. She was very pleased to have done so, so, I guess that is another sign that progress is occurring in the right direction. Three cheers for Nancy! It is day #26, which means that we are wrapping up the last week of the program. Only two more days! She is already planning breakfast for Saturday morning. In her schedule is this thing called a hot and cold shower routine. I don't believe I've ever explained what that all entails. Well, here goes…. She first showers with the water temperature as hot as she can stand it focusing on the tumor area. She does that for 1 minute. Then she turns the temperature down as cold as she can stand it for between 15 and 30 seconds. Then back to hot for a minute and then cold again. She does this cycle 7 times and is done. The morning routine ends with cold while the evening routine ends with hot. I tried it once and was able to do the cold water for about 1 second. She's tough. She's also been really good about this one, as she has never missed doing it. I've received some requests for more information about the Rife therapy we are doing. I've explained the basic mechanics behind the Rife in my last update. What Nancy does is as follows…. The frequency generator machine we are using has four outputs-two foot paddles on which she places her feet and two hand paddles which she holds in her hands. We obtained the routine which we are following from a cancer clinic in San Diego/Tijuana, the American Metabolic Institute. There are 17 frequencies from as low as 20 hertz on up to 2127 hertz. We split them up into two sets and do eight frequencies on one day and the other nine on the second day. These different frequencies target various bacteria, viruses and also stimulate certain glands in the body. The final frequency, 2127, focuses on the cancer cells themselves. The actual routine is where she sits somewhere where she can be touching all the paddles properly. She sets the frequency and then turns on the Rife machine and adjusts the voltage to as high as she can comfortably stand it. After four minutes of that frequency she then goes to the next one. Each frequency she does for four minutes. And that's about it. I've also received some requests for more information about the strong connection with thought patterns and cancer. I've put together some pertinent quotes regarding this along with some rambling comments from me. Quoting from what I think is an excellent overall book, Definitive Guide to Cancer (1997) by Burton Goldberg (a book with over 1400 footnotes), p. 546, "Cancer cells-an estimated 300, but more if the body has been exposed to carcinogens-are created every day in healthy human beings. What's a mere 300 out of an estimated 30 trillion cells that comprise the human body? Cancer cells, in moderation, are a legitimate part of nature. The difference between a person with cancer and a person with fleeting cancer cells is that in the latter the immune system is able to eliminate the aberrant cells from the system before they are able to do any damage to the body or start an illegitimate growth process culminating in a tumor."While the number of fleeting cancer cells may vary, this concept is in numerous sources I have read. So, you, I, Nancy and everyone else have fleeting cancer cells going through our body on any given day whether it is from some cosmic ray from outer space, irradiated food, exposure to cigarette smoke or other chemical toxins or whatever. However, something in a cancer patient's body tells his immune system to skip a beat and that allows the cancer to get a foothold and start messing with his body. Now why? The above mentioned book has a listing of 33 factors that contribute to cancer. While most of the factors seem to point to specific physical causes, e.g., Sick Building Syndrome, Nuclear Radiation, Flouridated Water, et. al., one factor seemed to stick out and showed up as a consistent factor in numerous sources. That one factor is called Toxic Emotions. Toxic emotions can contain some, any or all of the following:
I believe with every fiber of my being that the only person responsible for me and what happens to me is me alone. I believe that about everyone. We all have childhoods that are less than perfect and that taught us some form of dysfunctionality, but it is up to each and everyone of us to grow up and understand that we can either continue to let childhood imperfections hurt us or leave them behind and become healed inside. We can't be blaming outside influences (our stresses in life, etc.) for the bad things that happen to us inside. We all need to address how we handle the stresses life deals us and take responsibility for our own mindset and how it all affects us. Another quote: "Since the late 1960's, Western psychotherapists…, have acknowledged the power of emotions to contribute to the disease process. Since the 1970's, research in the field of psychoneuroimmunology has documented direct links between emotions and biochemical events in the body,…: emotions can manifest themselves as physical symptoms…. [I]n the view of Dr. Northrup as well as other … practitioners working with cancer patients, beliefs and emotions can be legitimate toxins, contributing to an overall weakening of the immune system. This author (W. Lee Cowden) has found the subconscious lack of self-worth or self-esteem to be the most dangerous of all toxic emotions. It can prevent any and all therapy from being effective" (p. 615-616).In a footnoted blurb, a sidebar on p. 617 mentions that "cancer death rates correlated significantly with a lack of closeness with parents." In chapter 7 of the aforementioned book, Dr. Patrick Donovan, a doctor in the Seattle area, is highlighted. "People who tend to develop cancer often are those who are plagued by depression, indecision, hopelessness, low self-esteem, chronic fatigue, and physical weakness…. Fear is 'the primary toxin' from which stem all other 'toxic' emotions…One of his treatments focuses on what he calls "reframing". This is where a person's "frame of reference toward an emotional experience or source of distress" is adjusted. Dr. Donovan says, "Generally speaking, it is crucial to consciously transform negative thoughts and emotions, because they can be extremely toxic to the body's anticancer defense system" (p. 170, 161). In a book by Louise Hay the author writes: "CANCER is a dis-ease [sic] caused by deep resentment held for a long time until it literally eats away at the body. Something happens in childhood that destroys the sense of trust. This experience is never forgotten, and the individual lives with a sense of self-pity, finding it hard to develop and maintain long-term, meaningful relationships. Because of that belief system, life seems to be a series of disappointments. A feeling of hopelessness and helplessness and loss permeates the thinking, and it becomes easy to blame others for all our problems. People with cancer are also very self-critical. To me, learning to love and accept the self is the key to healing cancers" (You Can Heal Your Life, 1994, p. 138).Now, not everything I read or present in this topic fits Nancy or anyone for that matter 100%. But some of it does ring true for probably everyone of us. I mentioned last time that I even read a book in the library from two "well known" conventional doctors currently working at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital up in New York. They mentioned the role of the mind in the development and treatment of cancer. They wrote of the psychogenic aspects of cancer. Last Friday evening was Cold Sheet Treatment #3. I think we did better this time. The physical things we pretty much did the same. She sweated a lot more in the tub but once she was out of the tub and in bed, she didn't have as good a fever as last time. This time we took her temperature and she was almost 100°F-not much of a fever, 'eh? We think that we didn't get the water temperature hot enough. It was only 104°F. Anyway, like I said before, that's why we do it four times so that by the fourth time, we've got it right and it does what it should. So, her program ends in two days. This is a moment of accomplishment. We have scheduled up in Tulsa in two weeks to get her blood tested to specifically check the cancer's status. Between that time though is another milestone. Next week Friday she will have been married to her husband for 15 years! I know, that's nothing compared to some of you 25-, 40-, or 50-year veterans but it's still nothing to sneer at! Well, this update has gotten pretty long so I better sign off. Again, thanks to everyone who keeps sending emails and cards and things. She is truly cheered by it all. Love, Norman P.S., Just as a repeat… for those who don't know and/or are reading this update as the first one, if anyone wishes to help in some way, prayers, cards and emails are always helpful.
